PureLux Bio operates a domestic, U.S.-based supply chain. Materials are received with lot identifiers assigned up front, held under controlled conditions in our U.S. facility, and dispatched domestically — a shorter route with fewer unknowns than long overseas supply lines.
Why a Domestic Supply Chain Matters for Research
A shorter supply chain means fewer handoffs, and fewer handoffs mean fewer places for traceability to break down. Every additional intermediary between production and your bench is another point where lot identity, storage conditions, or documentation can be lost.
Sourcing domestically lets us assign a lot identifier at intake and keep that identifier attached through storage, documentation, and shipment — so the material you receive can be traced back through our records rather than to an anonymous consignment.

Domestic Intake
Materials come through a domestic, U.S.-based supply chain. Each consignment is logged and assigned a lot identifier on arrival, before it enters storage.
Controlled Handling
Compounds are stored and handled under controlled conditions in our U.S. facility, following the same documented internal standards on every lot.
Documented Release
Lot identifiers, labeling, and internal records are reviewed for accuracy and traceability before a lot is authorized for distribution. Where discrepancies are found, release is delayed until they are reconciled.
A Short History of Peptide Science
Peptides are short chains of amino acids joined by peptide bonds. Their study underpins much of modern biochemistry, and the milestones below are matters of public scientific record — useful context for anyone new to the field.
1902 — The First Hormone
William Bayliss and Ernest Starling identified secretin in the small intestine and coined the term “hormone.” Secretin is a peptide, making it the first hormone of any kind to be described.
1921 — Insulin Isolated
Frederick Banting and Charles Best isolated insulin at the University of Toronto. Banting and John Macleod received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1923 for the discovery.
1953 — First Peptide Synthesis
Vincent du Vigneaud synthesised oxytocin, the first polypeptide hormone ever made in a laboratory, and determined its structure. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1955.
1963 — Solid-Phase Synthesis
Bruce Merrifield introduced solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), anchoring a growing chain to an insoluble resin. The method transformed the field and earned the 1984 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
1980s — Analytical Standards
High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and mass spectrometry became routine for separating and characterising peptides, establishing the analytical conventions still referenced today.
Today — Research Tools
Peptides are widely used as reference materials and research tools across biochemistry, cell biology, and analytical method development.
